Our Lodge is located on the Azorean Island of Faial. In subtropical nature we are riding trails on our Lusitanos Horses.

The Island Faial in the Mid-Atlantic. Great views to the deep blue Atlantic, green nature, and black basalt. Volcanoes and caldeiras. Whales and Dolphins are passing directly in front of our route.

Additional Animals on the property

In our herd are living 30 Lusitano horses. They are well-conditionend, safe and relaxed. They are living the whole year in a herd on the meadows at our Lodge.

We are riding with 30 Lusitano mares and geldings. All horses are trained as trail horses. They are used to be ridden with long reins. Our two Shetland Ponies will be available for smaller walks.

Riding experience and endurance depend the chosen program. With beginners we are riding small 1,5h trails. With more experienced riders we are riding up to 6 day trails.

Detached Quinta with 3 bedrooms (6 bed). Perfect for small groups and families. Private entrance, parking space, terrace and spacious garden. Living room with a unique view of the Atlantic, Azores islands and horses. Fully equipped kitchen, workspace with free wifi and 2 bathrooms. Complimentary access to the heated saltwater pool, yoga room and sauna.

7 Holiday flats / apartments :

Apartments with great views of the Atlantic. Fully equipped kitchen and living room with 2 sofa beds. Bedroom with king-size bed, which can optionally be equipped with 2 single beds, and private bathroom/toilet. The accommodation is part of our lodge and shares all facilities such as lounge, riding stables and restaurant.

Description:

We are a Horse-Ecolodge of the Azores. Located on the sunny north side of the island of Faial, you can enjoy fantastic views of the Atlantic and our neighboring islands. Rockpools at the sea are near of our Ecolodge.
Our Ecolodge with space for up to 40 guests offers yoga and relaxation retreats, and with our 30 Lusitano Horses trails in groups from 1 to 9 participants. For the care of the horses and for our daily and weekly trails we are looking for you from April to October 2023.
You will receive a comprehensive introduction to your task, the horses and the work at the lodge. Thereafter you will be responsible for leading horse trails, their safety and the customer satisfaction of your riders.
You must be willing to take care of the horses in all weather conditions and to give always a helping hand. You take the horses off the pasture and prepare them for the trail. We will provide you with the island's landscape, botanic, culture and history knowledge to share with your guests

Qualifications / Requirements:

You have already gained experience as a horse trail guide or you are not afraid to go on tour with your guide horse and other riding guests. You are guest and service oriented and at least 22 years old. You enjoy communicating with other people. You are a team player and can convey security in dealing with horses. First experiences in horse shoeing and an actual 1st aid course are a real plus.

Every day you might encounter new challenges. You will take on new responsibilities and your areas of responsibility can develop quickly.

You speak another language besides English. You have a driver's license, driving experience and maybe even a trailer driver's license.

PÁTIO Ecolodge**** on Faial Island is the leader of equestrian nature holidays on the Azores. Rewarded for our sustainability, we are looking for our restaurant of the Ecolodge guests with 20 seats for an sous-chef.
Tasks:
- assist with preparation and planning of meals
- creative, natural cooking with dedication to the Azores Cuisine
- develop new menus
- inventorying and ordering new supplies
- manage kitchen team in executive chef’s absence
