Our stables are located in a hill area, in Slanic city, Prahova County, one of the spa resorts in Romania. The city hosts the biggest Salt Mine in Europe, Unirea Mine, and several lakes with a very high salinity which are arranged for swimming and sunbathing. Slanic is also very close to Romania’s most well-known region, Transylvania, only two and a half hours from the famous Dracula’s Castle and three hours from the last inhabited fortress from Europe, Sighisoara.
Wildlife is abundant and, even if bears and wild boars are quite shy and very unlikely to come across, almost every time we can spot deer, foxes, falcons and rabbits. Depending on how experienced the participants are, we can go trekking for 15 up to 30 km each day, lunch being usually prepared in the heart of nature with the help of firewood or at the sheepfolds we come across during the route.
