Your place to feel good

Our home is in Viekijärvi – a little village in the middle of North Carelias wilderness. The premises is surrounded of forest and is located near the river of Vieki. We share the three hectares of land with our horses and dogs.
From Lieksa and also from Nurmes it is only 30 km to this little paradise. To both these towns it has good connections by train and bus. The nearest airport is in Joensuu, which is 130 km away, but also Kuopio is reached quickly with a distance of 150 km.
The lodge has three comfortable double rooms. The sanitary facilities are located in the basement.
The mixture of traditional Finish and Swiss kitchen will spoil also your palate. A comfortable and familiar atmosphere is very important for us and we like you to feel it also at the dining table.
The Lodge has an ideal location for several summer and winter activities. But also best to all who are looking for a quite place to enjoy silence and the seclusion of nature.

Traveling by car:
From Lieksa and also from Nurmes it is only 30 km to this little paradise. The nearest airport is in Joensuu, which is 130 km away, but also Kuopio is reached quickly with a distance of 150 km. At the airports it has car rentals.

The nearest train station is in Lieksa. The station in Joensuu can be reached within 1,5 hours by car.

Traveling by boat/ferry:
When you like to come with your own car by ferry there are several possibilities. You can start in Travemünde or in Rostock and come to Helsinki.

We follow paths along the russian border, ride through untouched nature, past idyllic lakes, over vast swamps and through dense forest. Experience North Carelia through another prospect!

Our Ranch hosts two Finish horses and three warm blooded Finish trotting horses. Also 28 sled dogs are at home here.

Other offers and explanations


Further activities like canoing, hiking and biking are also possible. In wintertime we offer also sled dog tours and snow shoe hikes.
