South from Budapest you enter the Hungarian Southern Great Plains, a low sandy basin between the Danube and Tisza Rivers. Small homesteads litter the plains interspersed with forests, fruit orchards, shallow lakes and meadows.

The land is criss crossed by a myriad of sandy tracks which enable the powerful Hungarian warm bloods to travel at speed over long distances. There are no fences to hinder your route, no gates to open and any vehicles you see will probably be tractors working the fields. This must be one of the best places in Europe to explore on horseback and it's no wonder that the Hungarians have such a long tradition of riding.

Although almost completely flat the land changes significantly over short distances.
One minute you may be riding alongside fields of maize and sunflowers then you pass through plantations of peach trees or an acacia forest before emerging on to open grassland where the horses can really show what they are made of.

The riding groups are kept small with a usual limit of six. The guides have tremendous knowledge, not only of the current landscape that you ride through but also the characters from the last thousand years of history; the original tribes who invaded from the great steppes to the east; the Habsburg rulers through to the communist era and to modern times.

Traveling by car:
Take the M5 motorway towards Szeged, and leave it at exit 166 (Szeged-Nyugat). After that follow country road 55 towards Baja. Between kilometer-stones 24 and 25 you will see a sign on the right of the road for "Homokhátsági Tanya-birtok". The sign takes you to a small sandy road which you will have to follow for about 4 km, to arrive at Csorva Tanya. Just follow the little wooden signs 'H U T',

Traveling by plane:
International Airport Budapest "Liszt Ferenc". If you want to visit us, we can offer direct transfers (set and VIP transfers) from Budapest down town, Budapest Airport, and Budapest train stations.

All rooms are comfortable, en suit bathrooms are well equipped, and you can freely use the little swimming pond in the garden, and the sauna too. Gratuitous internship. Our enterprise is well known as a high quality internship by most of the tourism studies institutes in the world.
Type of work: Training position,
Work area: Horse training / Rider, Horse grooming / Stable hand, Office work / Administration, Domestic- / Kitchen position,
Time period: 1.03.2012 to 30.11.2012
Duration: 3 - 4 months / minimum stay.
Description: - Work with and around horses: training for tours, back up guide.
- Guesthouse: guest relation, service, house keeping
- Office: basic help with managing and organisation, public relations
- Farm: feeding animals (cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, chicken..)
- Scheduled work time.
- Accommodation in own room, you will be supplied with all meals and drinks and working clothes during your stay.
- We do not cover costs for your arrival and departure to Hungary,
- Pick up from Budapest Centre or Airport and back will be arranged without charges.
- Please send detailed CV with pictures
Qualifications / Requirements: - Minimum age of 18 years, Gender - female
- Competent riding ability, experienced in grooming and tacking horses.
- Communicative and open minded character.
- Someone who loves animals and to be out in nature.
- English speaking is required!
- French and German would be helpful as well.
- Hungarian language would be the top of the top!
