Rancho Pitaya sits nestled as the base of the western foothills of the valley of Tlacolula, the eastern arm of the great valley of Oaxaca. While the ranch is only 20 minutes from Oaxaca, a UNESCO world heritage city with all the cultural experiences it has to offer there are countless fascinating destinations within 20 miles of the ranch. Rancho Pitaya is locate 12 km. east of the city of Oaxaca and nearest airport. Our Valley & Foothills Ride based at our comfortable country guesthouse Rancho Pitaya is located in the broad eastern arm of the valley of Oaxaca. This ride is offered all year long; archeological sites, Zapotec villages & superb Oaxacan cuisine make this a tried-and-true keeper. Our Sierra Juarez Ride features riding over ridges at 11,000. ft. and into deep valleys dotted with pristine villages. Remarkable changes in vegetation and breathtaking vistas distinguish this journey. Mid-February through May.

From the adobe guest lodge walk up the stone walkway to the ranches’ spacious open-style kitchen & dining room where local cooks prepare fresh Oaxaca specialties. Rancho Pitaya is about outdoor living and its old-fashioned verandas offer 360º views down valley and up into the mountains.
3 Single / double room(s) :	Traditional Mexican architecture in wooden beams, wild cane and hand-painted tiles define the design of the three spacious guest rooms of the adobe lodge each with ensuite bathroom & kitchenettes .
