The Natural Reserve Fortin Salazar is in the XV department of Pte. Hayes located in the Southern part of the western region.
This Department has two protected areas: the National Park Tinfunque and Fortin Salazar the first Natural Reserve created on private property in the Department.
The Natural Reserve Fortin Salazar is between the S23º parallels 04' 41,2'' and meridians W59º 16' 53,5''.
It belongs to the Tte Irala Fernandez (25 Leguas) District in the Western Region or Paraguayan Chaco.

The recreational activities of the settlers and the visitors are: the fishing, riding in boat or canoeing the riacho, horseback riding, and the practice of diverse sports like soccer and volleyball mainly.

Several streams offer the option of fishing in the Department. The savannahs of the Karanda palm and offer attractive landscape for the lovers of the photography by the abundance of birds and other animals.

Horseback riding or trekking by virgin forest areas (with or without night camping) are other options very appreciate by visitors.
