Istria is a heartshaped Croatian peninsula situated in the northwest part of the Adriatic coastline, often giving visitors a feel of Tuscany. This is no wonder since there was a strong Italian influence throughout the history. Istrian countryside is charming with its vineyards, meadows, olivegroves, romantic hilltop villages, old churches and miles long coastline. From the high mountains in the north to the flat lands of the south, there is a feel of timeless and mysterious world. This part of the world allures with its scents and fragrances, with colours and imagination. Ivy-clad old ruines of citadels, houses and town walls rumour of old legends that still live. Fresh air is a shock to the lungs, absence of city noise is a shock to the ears, yet it all sooths the soul and seduces the visitor who will remain eternally faithful to this land.

Excursions:


Excursions are available in all directions from our farm, on foot, by bike or by car. They are all a happy mix of scenery, historical sights and gastronomy.
Pula, 30min drive away, boasts one of the better preserved Roman amphitheatre; Rovinj, 20min drive away, is known as St.Tropez of Adriatic, where artists gather to share their work; Pazin, 15min drive away, has a medieval castle above a natural earth crevice that inspired Jules Verne; Mount Ucka is a Nature Park that boasts birdlife, numerous walking/hiking trails and untouched nature.

Traveling by car:
Easy driving distance from nearby countries, or even further afield in Europe. From Trieste (Italy) it is approximately one and a half hours drive in southerly direction. Good new roads are now criss-crossing Istrian peninsula.
A car is necessary

Traveling by plane:
Seasonal services available to Pula airport (30min drive), Rijeka airport (1 hour) otherwise Trieste, Italy (2hrs to airport) or Venice (3 hrs). We can arrange for a pick-up service on request.
Pickup service is possible

Traveling by train:
Major train connections for Trieste (Italy), then to Rijeka. Pick up service is possible on request.
Pickup service is possible

Traveling by boat/ferry:
Seasonal boat service from Venice to Rovinj and vice-versa by fast catamarans. Pick-up service from Rovinj to the farm is available. Further information on request.

Explore the trails of Istrian hinterland through fields, vineyards, olivegroves and woods. Breathtaking views of the medieval hilltop towns where we stop for a refreshment and a moment of history.

Our farm has extensive woodland and meadows where horses enjoy heatlhy outdoor life the whole year around. They are a mix of Arab and English blood, well trained to take care of all types of riders.

We have approx 25 hunting dogs, dozens of chickens for a fresh supply of eggs and a pheasant farm.

The magnificent horses we use are a fine mixture of Arab and English race specially trained to work with the visitor, with English and Western saddles used.

An average day’s trekking is 25-30 km. Riders should bring their own riding pants, boots and raincoat, and be able to control a horse in walk, trot and canter.
