Aparados is located in the southern region of Brazil, on the eastern part of the border between the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. It is located on the edge of the southern Brazilian plateau, where it meets the coastal plain region in mountainous formations that can reach heights of 1500 meters. It is in an area known as the Aparados.

Aparados is probably the most mysterious and enigmatic landscape of the country, where the vast fields finish suddenly, without transition, forming impressive cliffs whit dramatic scale.
